Branded!

Woohoo! We’s got ourselves a logo! Muchas Gracias to Mike for rustling this up with his mad Illustrator skills.

Work continues on “the idea”; both myself and Dan have written a pass on a script, Dan’s somewhat more refined effort being the frontrunner (although both are similar in idea). We’re going to tweak and poke bits and bobs around til we’re happy with the idea; hopefully we’ll start scouting locations soon and do some technical planning which may lead to some more concrete stuff being pushed out on this site. Keep your eyes peeled for the first bit of production news!

Huddling the team…

A quick shoutout to the guys at Huddle, whose collaboration and project management tool we are using to pull this thing together. Dan and myself have spent a number of nights logged into both Huddle and Skype, cracking out some ideas. We’re approaching decision time but we think we’ve narrowed the project down to two or three story ideas. We just need to assess the practicalities of each one and sit down to formulate a battle plan.

I’d also like to welcome Mike Pollard to the team. Mike is a skilled graphic designer and has been tasked with coming up with a doody logo for Short Cut Films. Hopefully we’ll also utilise his skills in other areas with potential future projects (baby steps, though, baby steps…)

What? When? How?

Short Cut Films is the name given to a Lincolnshire based indie film project, procrastinated about for a number of months (years even) and finally kicked into life about half an hour ago! The two driving minds behind this project are Andrew Beeken and Dan Hawbrook however I’m sure that our numbers will grow given time.

Our current goal is to prepare a 10 minute short to enter into the 2009 2 Days Later competition. We have a few ideas that we’ve been banging around and, with any luck, we’re going to start prepping something asap. We’ll be using this site to chronicle development of the film withou giving too much away, posting pics and news when we have it.
